Sustainable Oakland
Oakland Sustainable Community Development Initiative
Oakland’s City Council established the Sustainable Community Development Initiative (SDI) in 1997 by unanimously adopting a policy framework called "Building the Sustainable Economy: An Opportunity for Oakland.” They also established a Working Group, which was charged with formulating a set of sustainable community development recommendations and action steps.
